Guild Wars 2 – Help the Grub Farmers in Skrittsburgh Hillstead
“Collect grub meat, light torches to draw out pests, destroy faulty turrets, and protect the skritt.”
Head to the West and North from Zinder Slope and into the nearby mountain. Inside there you will find Skrittsburgh Hillstead. When you reach the first bend in the tunnel's path you will find Forager Sneckit. Talk with him to learn what aid he needs:
Forager Sneckit: “Lots of grubs live here. Make good meat. Yum, yum, burp. Share it with all of Skrittsburgh. Need to keep grubs alive. Hard with danger all around, yes.”
Hero: “Is there any way I can help?”
Sneckit: “Need meat, need to get it. Bad bats attack. Hurt, ouch, run away. Get meat. Bring meat here. No bats, no mean-men. Go, get meat, yes!”
Hero A) “How do I get rid of the bats?”
Sneckit A) “Bad bats swoop down, try to hurt us. Use fire. Yes, light torch. Make smoke. Make them fly away.”
Hero B) “Tell me more about gathering grub meat.”
Sneckit B) “Need meat to feed all skritt mouths. Some time, what? Long time takes to get meat. Get grub meat. All will be fed, you bring meat to me first. Yes, yes. Love grub meat.”
Head either back to the South and take some time to wipe out all the grubs you passed on the way in or just start exploring the nearby area. There are plenty of grubs. It is not very hard to find them nor to kill them either. The grubs will remain passive until you attack them. Additionally, you get credit to collecting and turning in the grub meat. This makes them ideal for this renown quest.
As you explore the area you will find torches scattered around the ground. Simply pick one up. This will more often than not get the attention of one of the Cavern Bats. These Lvl. 18 bats will swoop in and start attacking. If there are any skritt nearby they will help out with the fight. Otherwise you are on your own. They are not a hard fight, especially when it is just one of them. Be sure to drop the torch to use your regular skills unless you like the challenge.
The final thing you can attack to get credit for this renown quest are the faulty turrets. These will simply attack anything that gets close to them.
When this renown quest is complete you will get the letter, “Future Planning” with 1 silver, 5 copper:
“You did a good for us, I give you advice. Fore most skritt, all food scavenged. Make big pile, food will rot. Many young kitts are born, maybe pile not enough. But grubs you keep alive do not spoil. They make their own kitts. We laerned this way, not past-looking, not now-looking. Think of the future. Bigjob like you? Many great things can come. Look at future, go toward the great things – Forager Sneckit”
