Guild Wars 2 – Into the Mists

This is the fourth mission in the “Protect the Mists” storyline for the Norn. Head into Hoelbrak and into the Great Lodge. Just inside the building you will find the entrance to the next instance in this storyline.

Once Svena goes to open the portal, there is a quick cutscene where a stange fellow appears from the Mists:
Hero: “You there! Who are you, and what are you doing here?”
Armund the White: “My name is Armund the White. I … I don't know where I am. But I think I've been here for a very long time.”
Hero: “Can you help us find someone? We're looking for the Wolf Havroun Solvi and his apprentice, Valda.”
Armund: “I don't think so. There have been strange things happening … things that should not be. If you go on, tread lightly. One false step could mean your end.”
Hero: “Thank you. May the Spirits guide you to rest.”

Svena will open the portal, allowing all of you to pass through into the Mists. From there you need to head to the Northeast, down the stairs. At the first landing you will; encounter an Icebrood Elemental with a group of Sons of Svanir. Tear into them quickly. They are something that should not be here. Defeat the first 4. After they go down, another 5 Sons will appear. They are all lvl. 8 so be ready. Fight through them and head over to the Northern landing of the floor you are on.

Eir Stegalkin: “Look! There's Valda's spirit.”
Hero: “I see her. She's fighting someone!”
Eir: “I recognize that scoundrel. Stryrr Frostblade. He calls himself a Shaman, but he's a blathering fool. Dragon has no shamans, only slaves.”
Hero: “You! Leave that innocent girl alone.”
Stryrr Frostblade: “Faugh! I'll fight you all at once! Jormag's will is mighty! In Dragon's name, we claim and the destroy the spirits themselves! Come, my brothers! Show them Dragon's unrivaled might!”

With Havroun Grechen:
Eir Stegalkin: “Look! There's Valda's spirit.”
Hero: “I see her. She's fighting someone!”
Grechen: “That's Stryrr Frostblade, a frostbitten Son of Svanir. He calls himself a Dragon Shaman. What a joke.”
Hero: “Leave that innocent girl alone.”
Stryrr Frostblade: “Faugh! I'll fight you all at once! Jormag's will is mighty! In Dragon's name, we claim and the destroy the spirits themselves! Come, my brothers! Show them Dragon's unrivaled might!”

Time for the next round of fighting to begin. Not only do you have Frostblade, but at least 3-5 Sons of Svanir are here ready to attack you. Move around and fight like the Spirits. It will not be too long before you can best them all and bring relief to the Apprentice.

With Havroun Grechen:
Apprentice Valda: “Praise Wolf that you've come! How long have I been … no, never midn. We have to find Master Solvi! He was teaching me to spirit walk when we were attacked. He screamed and vanished … and in his place, a ragged portal appeared. The Sons of Svanir came through it, and I've been fighting them off ever since. They boasted about subduing my master with a magical spike made of corrupted Mist.”
Grechen: “That, combined with Solvi's power, could create such a portal. They must have attacked his body in the waking world while his spirit was here.”
Hero: “Then we'll rescue Solvi's body just as we did Valda's spirit. We'll heal the wound in the veil between worlds, and kill those who inflicted it.”
Eir: “First we get Valda out of here. She can lead us to Solvi, and help us prepare for what the Sons have in store. Remember, an unprepared hunter quickly becomes prey.”
Grechen: “So, you're a teacher now, on top of everything else? It suits you … but your lessons will have to wait until we return to the physical world.”

With Havroun Weibi:
Apprentice Valda: “Praise Wolf that you've come! How long have I been … no, never midn. We have to find Master Solvi! He was teaching me to spirit walk when we were attacked. He screamed and vanished … and in his place, a ragged portal appeared. The Sons of Svanir came through it, and I've been fighting them off ever since. They boasted about subduing my master with a magical spike made of corrupted Mist.”
Weibi: “Hmm. That, combined with Solvi's power, could create such a portal.
Weibi: “I see you've added 'teacher' to your list of occupations, Eir. Your lessons will have to wait, however. Now we must return to the Physical World.”

Just head over to the open portal and pass through it. Once again you will return to the physical world.

When you have made it back to the Waking World:
Apprentice Valda: “I have to find Master Solvi. He was meditating near Hunter's lake when we were attacked.”
Eir: “We'll get you there. Are you coming with us Weibi/Grechen?”
Weibi/Grechen: “I can't. I have to check in at Raven/Bear Shrine. My people need to know about this.”
Eir: “I understand. Thanks for all your help. Good luck, and may the Spirits watch over us.”
