Guild Wars 2 – Chain of Command
At some point you will want to head into the Black Citadel and meet with your Warband's canton. Once inside head over to the first hallway to the North. Once inside the instance head down the slope to the ground below. It is time to get talked at some:
Cerosi Breaksteel: “Well, look who finally came back. When Steelbane gets done with you, you'll wish you died with the rest of your Warband.”
Hero: “As if I cared what you think. Who are you, and why are you breathing at me?”
Cerosi: “Cerosi Breaksteel. Steelbane recruited me along with the others to rebuild the Warband.”
Hero: “Wait, what? He's recruiting without asking us?”
Cerosi: “Yeah, because you're dead, remember? And probably better off that way. Report to Steelbane in the barracks, quick, or you'll be in for a beating.”
You will meet up with your friend in your Warband, who also managed to survive. Start this off by heading to the North. You will find Legionnaire Urvan Steelbane where your Warband made its home. Time for your guy to face down some of what they have done:
Rage Steeltongue: “Legionnaire! Looks like some sewage just floating in from the battlefield.”
Urvan Steelbane: “You? You get my best soldiers killed, then have the nerve to stand there, stinking up our place with your cowardly musk.”
Hero: “Got them killed? Tell me something, boss. Who's in charge of this outfit? Who was giving orders? You.
Steelbane: “Watch your tongue, soldier, or I'll have it removed for insubordination. Rage, teach this piece of waste how to address a legionnaire.”
Steeltongue: “With pleasure.”
Time for some fighting. It starts of easily with just 2 Steelbane Warband Members moving in to attack you. Defeat them then 3 will come at you. You need to get through a total of 5 groups that alternate between 2 and 3 Warband Members per. The final group is accompanied by Cerosi Breaksteel. She is much stronger than the rest. She is a decently trained warrior so worry a little if she can close distance you are wearing little armor.
When you make it through the Warband that comes at you and your friend then it is time for another cutscene:
Steelbane: “Stand down! All of you, stand down – now!” So, you fight your own Warband better than you fight the enemy? Go on, get out of my sight while I figure out what to do with you. There's a load of supplies over at Tela Range. Bring them to me, double-time! It's the only job fit for you. Screw this up, and I will use your hide as a doormat. Understood?”
Hero: “Understood … boss.”
Exit the instance back to the Black Citadel. Now you need to head for Tela Range. Fast Travel over to the Greysteel Armory Waypoint and head over to the West. After that just turn to the North and make the short trek up to the instance entrance. Head in to begin the next part of this quest.
Once inside head over to the Northwest. Your friend will join you as you head over toward the supplies. As you reach their location it is apparent that you're legion has come under attack here. There are 4 Flame Legionnaires standing at the ready with a few Blood Legion standing ready. Head over to trigger the next sequence of events:
Flame Legion Recruiter: “The rest of your Warband defected voluntarily. Don't be stubborn. Why fight for Blood when you can cook for Flame Legion? Females have it easy with us.”
Elexus Shredskin: “You want me to desert and join you so you can demote me to fry cook? Please. I've killed a hundred males twice your size.”
Flame Legion Recruiter: “Fall in line or fall on a blade. I don't care which.”
Hero: “No luck trolling for recruits at the pig farm? You Flame Legion stiffs must be desperate. I came here for supplies, but this is a lot more fun,”
Recruiter: “If it's fun you want .. recruits! Let's send Blood Legion a message. Bury these idiots, and destroy those supplies while you're at it.”
Time for you to wipe out all the Blood Legion Turncoats and the 4 Flame Legionnaires present. Kill all of them then you have 2 more waves of Flame Legion to come at you. If you are having trouble with them, look around for cannonballs. Grab those and throw them into the Legionnaires to knock them down and do some nice damage. After that is when you get the attention of the big fellow: Flame Recruiter Prathar.
Prathar has a few levels on you so be warned. He will periodically use a slam attack that knocks down anyone around him. He is a melee combatant so most things at range will put you at an advantage over him.
When the fight is over Shredskin will recognize one of the dead. He apparently was a Quartermaster for the Blood Legion and a very good one. Approach her to begin the next cutscene:
Elexus Shredskin: “My whole Warband deserted for the promise of power. Never thought I'd see something like that. I have nothing left but my life. If you'll have me in your ranks, it's yours.”
Hero: “We need soldiers, and you can clearly handle yourself in a scrap. Welcome to the Warband. Just be warned – my legionnaire is going to drown us for losing those supplies. I hope you can swim.”
Elexus: “Don't worry. I can hold my breath for a long time. I'll take punishment over death … or being a gladium. Lead on.”
Choose your rewards and exit the instance. It is time to start the next mission, “Time for a Promotion.”
