Guild Wars 2 – Stand By Your Krewe

Head to the Rana Landing Complex Waypoint. You will find the entrance to this instance just to the Northeast from there.

Once inside the instance head to the North into the Mitchoan Marsh, where Zojja points. Hug against the western face of the mountain. It will not be too long before you find the entrance to the Inquest base. At the entrance of the base you have the first bit of fighting. 2 Inquest Technicians and a Mark II Golem, all Lvl. 8. Engage them with extreme hostility, they will do no less to you.

With the Inquest guards defeated head over to the left-hand side of the door. There you will find a security terminal that needs to be dealt with. Interact with it to begin:
A) Uhh … the code is “GUEST”
Console: “Your code is not recognized by this system. Access denied.”

B) Try again with another code
Console: “Instructions to reset your code have been sent to your mailbox. Also, your pay has been reduced by 20% to discourage you from forgetting project specific data.”
The Letter:
“Your credentials do not appear in your data base and we are unable to provide you with the information you seek. Please be advised that any additions requests for data without valid credentials could result in criminal charges, civil lawsuits, censure or sanction by the Arcane Council, revocation of your archive privileges, and a visit from one of our Legbreaker 5000 credentialing enforcement golems.”

C) “Attempt to bypass the security measures.”
Console: “Critical error/unauthorized security bypass sent/please reboot system/code 01001000011000010110001101101011011001010110010000100001”
Dignity choice: “Reverse the data flowing couplings to overload the security system registry.”
Charisma choice: “Patch into the central processing unit and insert a custom override lockdown protocol.”

After you have made the choice you will be inside the Inquest facility.   Just head to the Southeast to find Pol:
Pol: “I knew you wouldn't leave me to rot. Varkk's krewe takes care of its own. I don't want to be negative, but I absolutely hate it here.”
Hero: “That makes two of us. Now to get you out.”
Pol: “easier said than done. The door only opens to the correct code. If you try and fail, it sets off an alarm. There's a golem upstairs that generates the code. It changes all the time. Even the guards check it before they open the door.”
Hero: “Then I'll check it too … and knock its block off. I'll be back as soon as I retrieve the code from its smoking ruins.”

Head on over to the Northeast, up the stairs. At the top of the first flight of stairs you will find a pair of Inquest Engineers waiting for you. Head up the second flight of stairs to find a Mark I Golem (Lvl. 8) waiting there for you. It is also backed up by 2 Inquest Extinguishers, 1 Assassin and 2 Assistants. You need to defeat them all to move on upwards.

Head up and to the Southwest once again. At the top you will find the Code Golem (Lvl. 8), and a pair Inquest Technicians. Beat them all and examine the code golem. It gives a code that you should be able to memorize quickly (or just write it down and not worry about it). Head back down the stairs and punch in the code to open Pol's cell.

After that door opens you will need to fight a Lvl. 8 Senior Engineer and Assassin. Defeat them both and head to the Northwest, out of the Inquest complex. Once you are safe outside the krewe takes a moment to breath and catch up on what the Inquest is planning:
Pol: “I appreciate the save, but there's more to do. The Inquest has grandiose plans for our teleporter at Rana Landing. We should tell Varkk.
Zojja: “Or not. He's involved. I overheard the Inquest saying that he told them of our ambush.:
Pol: 'That doesn't make sense … unless there was something in it for him. Varkk does like control, power. What'd they offer him?”
Zojja: “He's maneuvering for a seat on the council. With the Inquest backing, he'd have all the influence he could ever want.”
Pol: “Oh, yeah? Well, after what he did to us, he deserves a gigantic screwdriver influenced into his skull. I may not be a hundred percent, but I want in.”
Hero: “Good. You and Zojja, meet me at Rana Landing. I won't let the Inquest keep our invention, but I will show them the power of a real genius at work.”

Choose your reward and you are off to the next mission in the College of Synergistics storyline, “Here, There, Everywhere.”
