Guild Wars 2 – Help the Lionguard keep the Cuatl hylek in check

“Eliminate Cuatl hylek, smash their turrets, and protect the haven from raids.”

Head just a little to the Northwest from the Cautl Waypoint. You will find Tarff's Assistant to talk to to learn more of what is going on here:
Tarff's Assistant: “Slimy, smelly, nogood … Oh, hello.”
Hero: “What are you doing?”
Assistant: “We're planning our assault on the hylek village of course.”
Hero: “Why?”
Assistant: “The Cuatl hylek are constantly sending raid into Arterium Haven. If we can rush the village and cause a little havoc ourselves, they'll be too distracted to keep up their raids.”
Hero: “What are you waiting for?”
Assistant: “Deputy Tarff is still making his final plans. He's concerned about the flame spitters – nasty little turrets that'll roast your skin right off.”
Hero: “Why are you distracting and not just destroying?”
Assistant: “We'd love to crush this village out of existence, but those toads breed like rabbits! For every one you kill it seems like two more pop up.”
Hero: “What can I do to help?”
Assistant: “Primary order of business: take out the turrets. Secondary: Kill hylek in the village. Tertiary: smash anything you can. It's all about population control.”

Head to the Northwest from the Assistant. From there it is time to start just slaughtering any Hylek that you come across. While some tribes can be friendly, these are not. Head into the ravine off to the West to find even more Hylek varieties to kill.

The deeper you go into the village the more you will find to take out. The first serious threat will be the Flame Turrets. These are best handled at range so they cannot roast you. They do a very good job of it given the chance. They are only really deadly at close range.

When the renown quest is complete you will get the letter, “Bravo!” with 79 copper attached:
“The Lion Guard would like to express its gratitude, 'Hero's Name'. The Cuatl hylek tribe can be tough to manage but your help has made our jobs quite a bit easier. You have a real knack for liasing these amphibious scamps. The Lionguard would suit you well! Tarff is in full agreement with me on this. And he is not easy to please – Tarff's Assistant”
