Guild Wars 2 – Use Researcher Kaii's SCRAP-Suit to help him manage Incomp's scrap heap
“Talk with Kaii to test his prototype. Then search for scraps near electrical distortions and dispatch any threats. Repair SCRAP-BOTS and revive obsolete SCRAP-BOTS.”
Head to the East of Incomp Optics. There, in the walls, you will find Researcher Kaii. Talk with him to get more details on the work he wants done:
Researcher Kaii: “I'm in charge of managing Incomp Optic's scrap heap. I'll admit it doesn't sound very glamorous, but it's an important job nonetheless. You seem ideal to assist with my special project. Interested?”
Hero: “How can I help?”
Kaii: “You can test my new SCRAP-Suit golem prototype. It's very simple to control. Are you up to the task?”
Hero: “Let me at it” - board a SCRAP-suit or “Maybe some other time.” - end conversation
Kaii: “Now that you're equipped, use the suit to disrupt electrical distortions within the scrap heap, and repair any SCRAP-BOTs. Don't fret should you encounter foes, your golem is well equipped for battle..”
Hero: “Anything else I should know?”
Kaii: “You may encounter an obselete version of the SCRAP-BOT in the scrap heap. Their software is outdated, but they've become a reliable explosive. You may tinker with them if you wish.”
Golem Abilities:
Launch Fist: “Launch the fist of the golem at foe.”
Range: 300, Cooldown: 2s
Gatling Fists: “Shoot a barrage of missiles at target foe.”
Range: 900, Cooldown: 15s
Disrupt: “Turtles while disrupting the ground beneath you. Blocks incoming attacks.”
Cooldown: 3s
Repair: “Self-repairs your golem suit and any nearby malfunctioning golems.”
Range: 150, Cooldown: 5s
Head down into the nearby cave. It is time to start working on the scrap heap itself. Here you will find Obsolete Bots that can be revived for some credit. They will move around for a while, sparking then explode.
The second thing is heading into the cave and looking for the Electrical Distortions. Approach any and interact with them. This will cause either a Chromatic, Translucent or Blue Ooze to appear. They are all Lvl. 4. There is at least a chance that an Inquest Technician will appear as well. They are also Lvl. 4.
Finally there are the SCRAP-BOTs. You will find them along the walls and in the odd spot here and there. Use the Repair function to restore them to working order. This is not a bad way ot finish the quest out.
When the quest is complete you will get the letter, “Picking up the scraps” with 52 copper attached:
“'Hero's Name,'
“I would like to extend my gratitude. My krewe is hard at working creating the most impervious defensive golem the world has ever seen, but it's important we not forget the dangers of an unmanaged scrap heap. I'm confident my krewe will come to realize this just as you have.
“Thank you – Kaii”
