Head over to the Eastern shore of lake at the foot of Jeztar Falls. There you will find PR & T Senior Researcher Takka. Talk with her to learn about their research:
Researcher Takka: “Here and PR & T Esoterics, we're investigating the color-changing properties of oozenarius iccthisius. If you're here to participate in the study, please take an oozone alternator and test it out.”
Hero A) “What can I do to help?”
Takka: “Simply create sludge samples from oozes and bring them back to me. The oozenarius iccthisius has properties integral to my research
    Hero A) “How do I do that?”
    Takka: “Isn't it obvious? Grab an oozone alternator and target flowers outside the lab. We've engineered our guns to transform flowers into oozes. Trash into treasure. Bring the oozes you create back to me.”
    Hero D) “Consider it done.”
    Takka: “And this is the part where you take off running.”
    Hero D) “I'm off to gun down some flowers.”
    Takka:“And this is the part where you take off running.”

Hero B) “What's the point in studying color-changing whatsis?”
Takka: “Ooze metachromatology could have myriad potential applications. It could lead to scientific breakthroughs in who know's what. Plus, I'll be famous if I can crack this formula.”
    Hero A) “Sounds important. How can I help?”

Takka: “Excellent! All you have to do is transform flowers platned around the lab into oozes with one of our oozone alternators and collect samples from the ooze sludge.”
Hero D) “Thanks. On my way.”

Grab the oozone alternator to gain the following abilities:
Zap: “Discharges energies at the target.”

Discharge: “Shoots energy and dazes your foe.”

Automatic Shot: “Fire a volley of shots at your foe.”
Range: 1,200, Damage: 24, Number of attacks (10s): 5

Charge Shot: “Hold and release to shoot your foe and make them vulnerable. Hold longer for more damage.”
Range: 1,200, Vulnerability (10s) 1% incoming damage, Cooldown: 20s
Lvl. 1 Damage: 44
Lvl. 2 Damage: 55
Lvl. 3 Damage: 66

Jump Shot: “Aim downwards and blast off the ground to fly at a foe.”
Range: 900, leap Damage: 57, Landing Damage: 57, Blast Radius (10s): 10 feet

The first and easiest thing to do with the PR &T Oozone Alternator is to find one the Mini Ooze projections and blast it a few times. You only get a reaction when it is zapped. Save all the others for when you are working with one of the plants in the area.

The Flowers will turn into a lvl. 5 ooze of its respective color when you zap it with the Oozone Alternator. They will use either fire spells (Red) or water spells (blue). Just by defeating them you will make progress.

When the renown quest is complete you will get the letter, “Pleasure Working with You” with 56 copper:
“My krewe has proven quite incompetent at times, but you've never shown any signs of such stupidity. You will be missed. Please come back and visit us. We would love to work with you again – Takka.”
