Guild Wars 2 – Help the Iron Legion

“Join with Iron Legion to protect the area from the Flame Legion near Exterminatus HQ”

Head around to the Southern outside wall of the Exterminatus HQ. There you will find Kessis Ironbound. Talk with him to learn more of what is going on around here:
Kessis Ironbound: “Welcome to Iron Legion Territory. We're got our hands full dealing with those Flame Legion heretics.”
Hero: “What are you doing here?”
Kessis: “We are trying to eliminate the Flame Legion, who keep attacking Exterminatus HQ. Their base is around here somewhere.”
Hero A) “What's this about the Flame Legion?” B) “What about  Exterminatus HQ?”
Kessis A) “The Flame Legion have a base around here somewhere and they send out raiding parties. We've got patrols looking for it.”
Kessis B) “HQ has some defensive turrets set up, but the Flame Legion keep attacking. There's also the occasional escaped ghost, from the containment unit.”

This is one of the simpler missions. Keep in the vicinity of Exterminatus HQ. Sweep out from Kessis to the South and East. If you keep along the path going to the Northeast or the Southeast or Southwest, and you will find a lot Flame Legion Power Sources. Shutting any one of these down will call in a lvl. 7 Ember that will immediately attack you.


As you wander, keep an eye out along the sides of the road in this area. The Iron Legion is more front line than the Ash. This means the downed soldiers will be easier to find in general. Just explore around the area looking for power sources and Flame Legion. You will find the occasional downed soldier but that is about it.

When everything is completed you will receive the letter, “Mission Succeeded” with 68 copper:
“I am happy to inform you of just how much your help in defending  Exterminatus Headquarters contributed to the successful outcome. Although the Flame Legion came at us with wave after wave of vicious attacks, you stood your ground and thinned their ranks. I can't remember the last time I witnessed such valor under fire from a soldier. I only wish you could have stayed on to join our ranks.

With the renown quest complete, Kessis Ironbound will not sell the following Karma Items:
