Guild Wars 2 – Saving the Stag

Head over to Hemlock Coil. There you will find the entrance to the instance to begin one of the final missions of this story arc. Once inside talk with Caithe to begin:
Caithe: “You've arrived just in time. I've scouted the Nightmare Court Camp and fortune favors us. The white stag is not yet corrupted. However, that is where our luck ends. Freeinf the beast with so many courtiers on guard will be difficult”
Hero: “my plan is to create a distraction. Have you seen anything in the camp that could draw their attention?”
Caithe: “Yes. The camp's leader. Sariel. She will be our bait. She's always been cruel and prideful, even before joining the court. Her followers hate her and would love to see her humiliated. If you duel her, everyone will watch.”
Hero: “I can do that much. Will a duel buy you enough time to free the stag?”
Caithe: “It will, if you toy with her. Encourage Sariel to brag about herself. Fight cleverly. Make the fight interesting, and they won't look away.”
Hero: “Good idea. I'll do the best I can Caithe. I hope it will be enough.”

Head up the slope and to the West. As you reach the crest of the hill you will encounter a line of courtiers that your hero will talk to:
Hero: “Courtiers. You ignorant lot. You bore me. You're all louts and fools. Do you deny it? Then prove me wrong!”
Sariel: “Oh, you're rather loud and obnoxious. Very well, you have my attention. Speak before I kill you.”
Hero: “Sariel. I heard you couldn't fight your way out of a dry marsh. I'm here to see if that's true. Duel me … here, before your followers.”
Sariel: “You will sniveling … I mean, of course. Let us dance. I shall delight in delivering your downfall.”

Follow Sariel back to her throne to the Northwest. Once Sariel reaches that she will turn hostile and the fight is on.

Sariel: Lvl 8 Warrior
If you are a distance away from her, expect her to charge you. She will knock you down and stun you, blocking off your abilities briefly. More than anything, keep moving. Even against a warrior in heavy armor she can inflict some decent damage. Still, she enjoys running around. Keep attacking her and do what you can to keep it interesting. Just fight and keep fighting until she hits half health.

It is at this point that Caithe will likely have freed the stag. Now you have all the Courtiers and Sariel to contend with. The good news is Caithe is on your side and is a good fighter. Take them all out then turn to the Southeast.

As you head down to the first turn you will encounter a Kennel Master with a good 5 Thorn Hounds at their command. Defeat them and head to the next turn. There you will have 4 courtiers come and attack you. Head to the East. The next good is a pair of Thorn Hounds and 2 Courtiers. Just defeat them and head on to the East. It will be smoothing running from there on out. When you reach the end there will be time for another conversation:
Hero: “Your idea to taunt Sariel into a duel worked beautifully. How did you know?”
Caithe: “I knew Sariel before she fell to the Nightmare. She was a student of someone I loved very dearly … but that is a story for another day. The white stag seems uninjured, though they clearly frightened it. I'll take him back to the grove. Be warned, Valiant, remember that Sariel is prideful above all else. She will not forget this insult.”
Hero: Yes, but you're taking the stag back to the Grove. Sariel wouldn't actually attack the Pale Tree's city just out of wounded pride … would she?”
Caithe: “You underestimate the Nightmare Court. They will do whatever they must, to get their way.”
Hero: “At least Gavin still had a sense of honor. How can he and Sariel both be in the Nightmare Court?”
Caithe: “Evil has many forms. Some desire tyranny. Others, chaos. Regardless, they will come for the white stag, and they do, we must be ready. I will meet you at the Grove.”
