Guild Wars 2 – Help Cruibis Forgeweld run the armory and aid the charr weapon tests

“Pick up unexploded mortar shells, metal bars, and work tools while guarding against ghosts and the Flame Legion.”

Head due North from the starting point in the Charr area of the Plains of Ashford. You will find yourself in at the forge. Head a little to the East of there to find Crucibis Forgeweld. Talk with him to learn more about what he wants you to do:

Crucibius Forgeweld: “See that armory? That's where they produce most of our weapons. It's Armorer Blightaxe's pride and joy.”
Hero: “Looks a little … in need of upkeep.”
Crucibis: “Our troops are stretched thin with so many fronts, and upkeep isn't exactly a big priority. You could help by pitching in and cleaning up the tools you see, and picking up the mortar shell duds.”
Hero A) “What tools?” B) “Mortar shell duds?”
Crucibis A) “Someone just needs to sort out the tools that get left laying around everywhere. An organized armory is an optimized armory.”
Hero B) “And what about the mortar shell duds?”
Crucibis B) “The mortar team is east of here, blowing up bits of wall for practice. But not all the shells explode when they're supposed to. It's not safe out here until all the duds have been collected.”
Hero A) “And what about the tools?”

Now there are a few things to do around here. Not a lot of fighting needs to happen for it, but it is easy enough to find though. First, head to the East of Crucibius. There you will find an experimental mortar that you can try out. You can fire it though it has equal chances of shooting as it does just blowing up in your face.

After that, you can seek out the various unexploded Mortar Shells. Head just below the ridge that you spoke with Crucibus on and you will find no lacking of them. To dispose of them, simply pick them up and then throw them at something. If there is a Flame Legion soldier, all the better. You get credit for exploding the shell and then you have the attention of the Flame Legion soldier. The same applies for any Ascalonian Ghosts as well. They do not appear too often, but it does work. Just fight them as they should not be a very big challenge.

The final thing you can do for this quest is head up to the Armory itself. Once there look around on the floor for misplaced tools. Collect any of them and then bring them to the Western Wall. There you will find a Tool Rack that you can place them into. It does not take too long with that to complete the quest.

Once the quest is completed you will receive the letter, “Hey, Thanks” with 45 copper.
“Because of your recent help in getting the armory at Gunbreach Hills back into shape, we will soon be ready to fire the old place up. If it hadn't been for your assistance in taking care of all the mortar shells, tools and those pesky Flame Legion rogues, it might have been forever before we were back in the arms business here.

“I know you must've been weary from all the recent fighting at the front, but they way you stepped up and pitched in here at home for the war effort was commendable.
