Guild Wars 2 – Voices from the Past

This is the start of the story line for those who chose the Unknown Parents background as their major regret. You will receive a mysterious message in your mail box. Open it up to learn more of what is going on here:

“My Friend,
Congratulations on your recent accolades as the 'Hero of Shaemoor.' I'm a researcher from the Queen's archives, and I have recently uncovered some information regarding your parents. I thought you might want to see it. I would prefer to discuss the details in person, so if you will meet me at the palaces gardens at Divinity's Reach, I'll share them with you.

To prove I am what I say, I have enclosed half of an amulet, which I believe will match a broken one you've owned since you were born – something my research led me to uncover. I look forward to meeting you face-to-face.

Sincerely,
A Friend”

With that out of the way, head up into the Upper City via the Palace Waypoint. Just head a little South of there to find the entrance to the instance itself. Once inside just head forward and talk with the man who stands in front of you, the Informant.

This fellow explains only a little then reveals his true intention: to kill you. Time for some waves of assassins. Only the first wave if fought along. After that you have the aid of 2 Shining Blades: Exemplar  Salia and Mehid. There are a number of assassin waves with between 3 and 5 Assassins in each. The final wave stands out as all the assassins are Elites, making for a tougher kill. Still, with the Exemplars' aid it will be challenging but not overwhelming to beat.

Once the fight is over approach the pair and talk with them:
Exemplar Salia: “Excellent work handling those foul cultist citizen. May they know Grenth's justice. I'm Exemplar Salia of the Shining Blade. This is is Exemplar Mehid.”
Hero: “A pleasure, I'm sure. You say those were cultists?”
Mehid: “White Mantle, to be exact. Ancient enemies of Kyrta. They often target defense of the kingdom and its queen.”
Hero: “I thought the White Mantle were just a children's tale told on Mad King's Day. Why would they have this amulet from my parents, though? Why bother attacking me?”
Mehid: “They're quite real as you've seen. And judging from the symbol on that amulet, I'd say your family has been very loyal to the kingdom.”
Salia: “A mark of the king's favor? That's interesting. Probably from Queen Jennah's father, if I had to guess. We're out to raid a White Mantle hideout we found recently. A hunting lodge near Beetletun. It'll be dangerous, but the cultists there may know more.”
Hero: “I think I know the hunting lodge. I'll meet you there, and I won't take 'no' for an answer. I can help you on your raid, and maybe I can learn what happened to my parents.”
