Guild Wars 2 – Help the Monastery Brewers

“Fight centaurs, recover stolen ale, protect the Monastery, clear grubs from the fields, and taste-test new ale.”

Head to the Southeast from the Queen's Forest. Head to the Kyrtan Freeholds where you will be able to begin this quest properly. Head into the Monastery and over to the East, going up the stairs to the first landing and turn to the right. There you will find Brother Vince who you can talk to about this quest:

Brother Vince: “A brewmaster's life is one of sweat and hard work. Add in centaurs attacks, bandits, and poorly tended crops, and it can seem almost impossible.”
Hero: “What can I do to  help?”
Vince: “Bandits and centaurs are causing us no end of trouble, and grubs have been ruining our crops. Solving any of these problems would help. Additionally, we could use someone to taste new brews.”
Hero: A) “Bandits?” B) “Centaurs?” C) “Grubs?” D) “Brew Tasting?”
Vince A) “Like our customers, bandits can't get enough of our brew. Unlike our customers, they don't pay for it. Ending their thievery or assisting the patrols out front would really limit our losses.”
Hero: “What else can I do?” - This takes you back a menu to ask about the different problems.
Vince B) “Every month, we lose barrels of our brew to centaur raids. We need help protecting our outgoing shipments. Removing centaurs from their camps to the Southeast would probably help.”
Vince C) “Toiling in the fields is hard work, and a batch of hungry grubs has been eating the crops. The monks haven't been able to stop the grubs, so I'm sure they'd appreciate your combat expertise.”
Vince D) “Sister Liz is experimenting with new brews. She's been looking for tasters to try the latest batch so she can perfect the recipe. She's in the cellar below if you care to whet your palate.”

With everything laid out it is time to get to the quest itself. The first part would be the grubs. They are found in the various fenced in gardens inside the monastery itself. Head into the neat rows of plants and explore around them. Whenever you find a grub tail, pull on it. It will reveal a Disgruntled Grub. It is not much to fight but makes for some good practice.

The next option is Sister Liz. She sits in the Ale Storage Room. It is the one major room along the ground in the Northern Wall of the Monastery. Talk with her to get offered different samples. You can either tell her that it is fine or that it needs more work. She will wait for you to stop feeling any effects of the ale before she lets you taste more.

Another thing you can do is wait around in the courtyard near where Sister Liz is. If you hear someone come in whistling look at them. Likely they are a shady customer. Keep an eye on them as they walk over to the Ale Storeroom. As they go hostile, open fire. Feel free to also use the time to lay some traps for them as well. It will make for a lot easier time of taking them down overall.

Time to head outside the monastery and work on taking care of the problems there. Around it in general you will find a number of bandits. Kill them to earn some progress on the quest track. After that, follow the Brewmaster's directions and you will find Centaurs just to the Southeast of the Southeastern ridge from the monastery. Just lay into them to earn some quick progress on your quest. Keep near the ridge to ensure that all these centaur kills count toward progress with the monastery, otherwise they will count toward working for the Beetletun Farmers.

When the quest is done you will get the letter, “The Brewing Continues” with 79 copper:
“Hero's Name,

We brewers of Eldvin Monastery commend you and your efforts to keep us in business. Because of heroes like you, soldiers the world over continue to enjoy peaceful times with comrades after a hard day's work.

Thanks again – Brother Vince”
