48 – Route 212 (Pastoria to Hearthome)

Take a moment in Pastoria and heal up your Pokemon if they are feeling their recent battles. Head to the south western part of the town and head to the west, past the Berry Girl's house and into the Rain.

Route 212 is under a constant shower. This means that Water-type moves are powered up, Thunder has Perfect accuracy and Fire-type moves are weaker. This will also affect healing moves based on Sun or moon light.

Not too far in, you will see a man by a puddle. He feels great for having visited the Mansion and the Great Marsh. Head down and to the left of this man to find not only some trees that can be cut down, but some berry plants as well. The berries you will find are: 1 Pecha and 3 Pinap. After you collect berries, you will want to follow the wooden beam you seem hanging from the nearby raised platform. Follow it to find an item ball with a Revive inside. Now, return to where you found the berries. There are two paths through this area, one taking the beam above you, the other having you walk through the nearby grass and bog.

Going through the Bog
Just a little to the left, you will encounter a trainer. This is Pokemon Ranger Taylor  who will challenge you with his Carnivine lvl. 28 and Luxio lvl. 30. Just a bit to the left and down, you will find an item ball with TM 06, Toxic, inside it. You will now need to cross the bog to your left. To navigate it easily, look closely at the water. You will see thin areas that are a lighter gray than others. These lighter areas are safe to walk on without any chance of getting sucked down. If you step into the darker areas, you will likely get stuck. To get unstuck, spin your character around a few times. They would rise quickly and that will let you cross the area. Just keep going to the left. Try to keep on dry land to minimize the time you spend stuck in the bog. You will also find another Honey Tree in this area. Nearby that is another item ball with an Elixir inside it. From there, just head to the left and you should see a house nearby. Skip to the part below the Beam section.

Taking the Beam
Now, chop down a tree near where you found the berries. Hop on your bike and cruise across the beam you just walked under. Follow the path, cutting down the small tree. This will clear the way to another item ball, which contains a Hyper Potion. You will find a trainer not too far from here. This Scientist Shaun. He has a Magnemite lvl. 30 and a Kadabra lvl. 26.  Heading to the left, you can either go through the grass or just cut down the trees that are in your way. On the far side you will see a girl holdign a pink umbrella. This is Parasol Lady Sabrina who will challenge you with her Wooper lvl. 26 and Quagsire lvl. 28. Only a little ways to the left you will find another item ball, this one has a Zinc inside it. Hop over the ledge and you will be next to a house.

The woman out in front of it is a trainer. She is Parasol Lady Alexa who has a Goldeem lvl 25 and Bibarel lvl. 27. This house is a Move Trainer's House. Inside, talk to the Hiker in the middle, as he is the Tutor. In exchange for colored shards he will teach your Pokemon different moves. This can be handy later when you are working on building a competitive team. Time to resume the westward trek.

You will now be cross a lake on a bridge. Talk to the first fisherman, Juan, to challenge him. He will send out a Gyarados lvl. 29. From there, you will find a few more Fishermen. Above Juan you will find  Fisherman Josh with his two Goldeen at lvl. 27. You can also step off the bridge, cut down the nearby tree and explore the surrounding area. Beyond the tree you will find two beams to cross. Heading downwards leads to another platform and beam. Head to the left. Bring up the drowsing app on your poketch while you are on the small platform. You will see a hidden item there, which is a Big Mushroom.
Heading to your left makes it easy to hop over to the next part of the Route.

Below Juan you will find Fisherman Travis with his Barboach at lvl. 24, 2 at lvl. 25, and a Gyarados lvl. 26. Follow along this path, you will another trainer, Collector Dean, who will challenge you with his Umbreon lvl. 27 and Espeon lvl. 27. From there, head upwards, ascending a set of stairs. You will find someone nearby the beam who will tell you how to cross them. On the far side of the beam you will find an item ball which has TM 62, Silver Wind, inside it. Cross back and head to the left. You will be able to make your way over to the left, looping around a body of water. This lets you move into the last area of the Pastoria side of Route 212. There is a Police Officer who will challenge you at night, but he is very easy to beat.

Follow the route and you will have the option to use cut to bypass some Trainer Battles. That would not be as fun and it will slow down your progress on the Pokedex. So, head down and to the left. You will find a Scientist to challenge, Stefano, with his Kadabra lvl. 30. Nearby, below him, is an item ball with a Full Heal inside it. Now head upwards and you will find another item ball with a Blue Shard inside. Now head to the right. You will find yourself facing a Double Trainer Battle against Pokemon Rangers Allison and Jeffery. They will challenge you with a Monferno lvl. 31, Marill lvl. 29 and a Leafeon lvl. 29.  After them, start heading North. You will finally leave the rain behind and emerge on to the Hearthome side of Route 212.

Please note that just on the other side of the first sign you see is an item ball. This slightly hidden item ball has an Elixir inside it. Now, head through the grass and you find the entrance to the Pokemon Mansion. There will be a few pairs of trainers that you can challenge along the way. The fist pair is Rich Boy Jason and Lady Melissa with their Prinplup lvl. 27 and Cherubi lvl. 27. Just abvoe them, to the right of the entrance into the Pokemon Mansion is  an Item Ball with a Green Shard inside it. Exit from here, looping to the left and upwards so you can continue toward Hearthome.

Not too far from the gate entrance, you will find two berry plants, a Sitrus and an Aspear. Just a bit to the left of them you will see a well-dressed elderly couple. The old lady is Solcialite Reina. She will send out her Roselia lvl. 27. The old man is Gentleman Jeremy, who will challenge you with his Chatot lvl. 27. Now head upwards again, and you will be able to easily reach Hearthome City.

From hearthome, head to the right and go right up the nearby Routes to reach Route 210, where the Psyducks block your way forward.
