Guild Wars 2 – Echoes of Ages Past

Head on out to Osenford Waypoint. This places you just South of where you want to go. If you do not have this waypoint, head North through Breakneck Pass from the Snowlord's Gate. There you will find Osenford Shear. Head over to the Western cave. It looks to almost be joining with Bear Lodge. Be warned that inside is a good size collection of Jotun. The entrance to the Instance itself is found just to the North of the Vista in Osenfold Shear.

Once inside the instance you will find yourself in front of a Jotun Guard. Approach and talk with him:
Hero: Where is Korag? Your “Giant-King” is a weakling and a coward. I challenge him to single combat.”
Jotun Guard: “You're not worth to even speak his name. Run while you still have legs. Korag rules these mountains. He will unify all jotun behind his iron fist.”
Hero: “If I need to kill you and every other jotun here to get Korag's attention, so be it.”
Jotun: “If you truly wish to be tested … the Worship Stone behind me is an ancient and holy relic. Its power judges any who touch it. Fail, and die.”
Hero: “Touching a rock earns me the right to fight Korag?”
Jotun: “Walk away while you can still mock death. Otherwise, we'll mock your smoldering corpse.”
Hero: “Tell Korag to prepare for battle. This won't take long.”

Head over to the marked stone to your right. You know you are on the right track when you hear 2 Jotun comment on your approach to the stone. There you will find Elder Thruln. He is a level 7 Elder Jotun who packs a mean punch. He focuses on melee ranged combat so if you are more ranged, keep mobile and dodge frequently when you see an attack incoming.

After the fight the Hero asks for his help in overthrowing Korag. Elder Thruln explains that he is little more than a memory from ages long ago. He also explains the history of the Jotun. That they were once more powerful felt as if they were Gods. The Giant-Kings began to turn on each other and soon much of Jotun society degraded down to simply bloodshed as everyone turned on each other. He explains everything and gives perspective to what is going on. He sees it as Korag, who has the blood of the Giant-King's within in, can bring about the end of the Jotuns if he is allowed to complete the offering of the Jotuns to the Ice Dragon.

When the scene is over you will be allowed to approach Korag:
Korag: Arrogant insect. You dare challenge me? You are nothing.”
Hero: “And you are nothing compared to what your people once were. Thruln showed me the truth. Your lust for power will destroy your people, as it did in the old days. I came to challenge you, but for Elder Thruln's sake, I'm giving you this chance: reject the dragon. Your people have already suffered enough.”
Korag: “Pity from a Norn? I expected more. Jormag will give us the strength to restore our glory. We will rule the mountains again!”
Hero: “The ice dragon makes slaces, not kings. Ask the Sons of Svanir where their 'glory' is, and you'll see that you've been lied to.”
Korag: “I will go and demand Jormag's blessing. When I return, I will show you the power of my faith. I challenge you to do the same.”
Hero: “Done. But I warn you: be wise as well as strong, Korag. If you insist on serving the ice dragon, I will cut you down.”
Korag: “Go, acquire more power if you can. Until then, the mountain does not acknowledge the insect. Begone!”
Hero A) “After this 'insect' levels your 'mountain', you'll wish you had.” (Brute)
Hero B) “Don't embarrass yourself, Korag. Such insults are beneath a true Giant-King.” (Dignity)

With this part of the quest complete head back to the Frost Basin where you will find Eir and Garm. Entrance the instance and then follow the slope up into the lodge above. Here you will have a choice to make. Either you will side with Eir Stegalkin and secure Wolf's Blessing (Twight of the Wolf) or with Beigarth to seek out the beast Windshear to enhance the weapon that he is making for you (Out of the Skies).
