47 – Pastoria City to Lakefront Valor

Your rival will mention that a Team Galactic Goon is in front of the Observatory Gate (our explosive happy friend) and that he is up to no good. This gets Crasher Wake quite enraged and he will charge off after this man. Follow him in pursuit. Talk to Wake in front of the entrance to the Safari Zone and you will hear a massive explosion from the nearby lake. Trouble is loose over there (and the Goon insults Crasher Wake too). Crasher Wake will head into the Marsh to check on things, your Rival will stay to guard the entrance to the Marsh and ask you to chase after the Goon.

Head to the right to follow in pursuit. You will encounter him  just outside the building leading to Route 213. He will try to deter you from following him and run through. Follow him. He will talk as you encounter him about making the bomb and what Galactic's plans are. He is not too far from the other side of the building. Head to the left, down, then left again, weaving your way east. You will see the Grunt not too far from Dr. Footprint's house. Now, Looker will find you, mutter to himself then take off after the Grunt. Head to the right, then up, into the Reception Area of the Resort. You will find Looker talking with the attendant at the front desk. Looker is asking around about suspicious people. Head out of the reception area and go up, then to the right at the Cafe. You will see the Grunt again. Talk to him to have him run on to his next spot. Head down the stairs to see him again. Now, he will finally fight you with his Croakgunk, which after the Gym Pokemon is nothing. He will walk away slowly. Just after this, Cynthia will show up and talk to you. She will tell you a little of the folklore around the lake. After that, your Rival will show up and tell you  that no serious damage was inflicted to the Great Marsh, then run off again.  Cynthia will wonder about your Rival then ask if you have seen the Psyduck on Route 210, the ones blocking the path. Tell her “Yes” and she will give you a Secret Potion. This will clear up the Psyduck's headache and let you press on. Time to head over there and fix the Psyducks' headaches. Head back to Pastoria so you can cross through Route 212 and see the Pokemon Mansion.
