Guild Wars 2 – A Weapon Of Legend
Head into Hoelbrak, the capital city of the Norn. Once inside head down into the Hunter's Hearth, do not enter the instance. This is just after the Great Lodge Waypoint.
Hero: Beigarth the Smith! What would you have of this season's finest slayer?
Beigarth: You're mighty confident for one so young. Reminds me of me, after I won the Great Hunt … but that was a long time ago. I chose smithing over hunt, and I never regretted it. Now it's time to forge my masterpiece, a mighty weapon to break Jormag's tooth!
Hero: Nothing has so much as scratched the tooth in over a hundred years. What makes you think you could craft such a thing?
Beigarth: Deldrimor steel. If I can get my hands on enough of it, I can make a weapon to shatter mountains! The secret of the alloy was lost with the dwarves, but I can smelt existing relics into the steel I need. Such artifacts have surfaced in a Jotun cave near Grawlenfjord. That's why I sent for you. If you can beat back the jotun and collect the artifacts I need to forge the weapon, you might be worthy of bearing it. Interested?
Hero: Interested? Ha! I'm determined! Ready your forge for dwarven steel, smithy!
With that conversation out of the way it is time to head for Grawlenfjord. Head for the nearby Waypoint of the same name. Head just a little North of the Waypoint to find the entrance to the needed instance. Start up the slope in front of you to the East. As you head up you will encounter a single Jotun on the slope. At the top you will need to deal with 2 pairs of Jotuns. One guards a prisoner who calls for help to get free. This fellow, Lundvarr the Intrepid, explains that there are more prisoners trapped inside and asks for your help to free them. Take care of the Jotuns outside the cave and then it is time to head into the cave to the East of the hut you found Landvarr in.
Just inside the cave you will find the corpse of one of the locals. You will also hear the Jotuns talking quite a bit about this “Dragon” and leading a ceremony to gain power from it. Head into the cave. There are 5 jotuns. Most are level 3 but 1 is level 5 so be wary. The first 3 are all level 3 and will not draw the others unless you move deeper into the cave.
After that trio head deeper. There are 2 more jotuns, 1 level 5 and a level 3. You will hear one of the jotun call to Jormag, the Dragon. Kill them then approach the altar. Just to the west of the altar itself you will find a Deldrimor artifact that you can collect. After that look at the altar itself. Here you have a few options. You can pay respects to the dead Norn on the altar, leave the shrine or spit on it (Brute). After that you are all done with the instance. Leave it and head back to Hoelbrak's Great Lodge Waypoint.
Return to Beigath the Smith and its time for another conversation:
Hero: I brought your dwarven steel, blacksmith. I also saw the bodies of the toher hunters you sent. Those jotun are worshipping the ice dragon.
Beigath: Bear's breath! I didn't know that! I'll take the steel off your hands, but I can't do abything about the jotun. Though I do know someone who can … do you know Eir Stegalkin? Tall, beautiful, travels with a huge black wolf? She killed one of the ice dragon's strongest lieutenants.
Hero: Of course. She fought beside me against Issormir, and I've heard songs of her epic deeds at several moots.
Beigath: She could help us. And, not to be a gossip or anything, I hear she's taken quite an interest in you since the Great Hunt.
Hero: In me? Why?
Beigath: To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. Perhaps you impressed her. In any case, ask her about these jotun and I'm sure she'll lend you a hand.
Head on out of the lodge and start over to the East. You will find the entrance to the Frost Basin. Just head forward once the instance starts to find Stegalkin and her Dire Wolf, Garm. Garm warns of someone approaching. After that just talk with Stegalkin to finish out this part of the quest. She wants to go “talk” with the Sons of Svanir who are in a nearby camp.
