Head all the way to the East to trigger the next cutscene and begin the fight.
Hero: Bercilak! Are you ready to fight yet?
Bercilak: A flimsy sprout like you will never defeat me. Even so, I'll teach you a final lesson – in pain.
Hero: Last time, your enchanted armor made it a bit unfair. Face me honestly, and we'll see who's flimsy.
Bercilak: Occam's hammer. Do you think I really need my magic armor to beat you? We'll see.
Bercilak Boss Fight
Bercilak is a bit more aggressive in this round of combat. It is important to interrupt any overhead attacks of his that you can. These are the most likely to send your character flying backwards. More than anything, avoid standing still and keep focused on him. If you see an attack coming either interrupt it or dodge out of the way. He is a brutal foe but he is very beatable with some patience and time.
If you happen to die, try to get back into the fight as quickly as possible. Bercilak will start to regain health quite quickly. It is still very possible to die and beat him (even with multiple deaths). The most important thing is getting him a bit lower each time to ensure that he will die. If you enter the death struggle and drain him to zero, he will not die. It is only a blow from Occam's Hammer that can kill this creature of the Nightmare Court.
Occam: Victory! So, the Nightmare Court can be beaten after all.
Hero: Never give up, Occam. Speaking of that, I fear that the Nightmare Court may target you to make more armor. Would you like to come and live in the Grove, with me? You'd be safer there.
Occam: Respectfully I must decline. Too much noise. You've shown me how to fight them. Now, I will.
Gairwen: I think I may take you up on that offer. I still mourn the loss of my beloved, but I can't by his grave forever.
Hero: Mourning alone only brings more sorrow. You would be welcome, and may stay as long as you like. You'll be safe there.
Caithe: Safe? The grand duchess will soon find another way to dream the Dream into Darkness, then none of us will be safe. It is her way.
Hero: It sounds like you have history with this Grand Duchess Foalain. Did you know her well?
Caithe: Perhaps once … but I don't know her anymore. Never mind. You've done well, Valiant. Enjoy this moment. Like all victories, it will fade Come. Like Gairwen, we should not dwell on sorrows. One image in your dream has been resolved, but the other – the dragon – remains. It is time to speak with the Pale Tree.
With the conversation done return to the Upper Commons Waypoint. From there just head over to the nearby elevator you will find the elevator to the Omphalos Chamber. Head over to the left from there to find Kahedins, Caithe and the Avatar of the Tree. Approach the trio and greet them to begin the next part of the quest.
The Avatar of the tree thanks you for the efforts in besting and defeating Bercilak. Kahedins offers the suggest to rest the helm of Bercilak here in the garden as a reminder. The Avatar agrees and tells them the lesson is that strength of heart will triumph over strength at arms. With that matter settled she will ask Caithe to introduce the Hero to her eldest child: Trahearne. Caithe is hesitant for some reason. Still, the Avatar will insist and she will make arrangements for you to meet him.
