Guild Wars 2 – A Good Work Spoiled
Travel to Brigid's Overlook Waypoint. Turn to the South from there and you will find the entrance to the next instance in this quest line. Once inside head over to the West and around the bend. There you will find Caithe there waiting for you. Approach and she will reveal that the Nightmare Court has been active in the area:
Caithe: Valiant? How unexpected. Nightmare courtiers attack Brigid's Overlook. I came to investigate. What are you doing here?
Hero: I came to see Occam, but he's not here. He forged special armor for Bercilak. It may be the reason he's so powerful.'
Caithe: I see signs of a fight … but no blood upon the ground. The smith was kidnapped, not killed.
Hero: Whoever attacked this village must have gotten to Occam. I hope he's all right.
Caithe: We can still learn a great deal. Look for clues. There may be more here than a first glance reveals. Search carefully. The smith may have kept a journal, or an account book. We need any information we can find.
Once you are through the cutscene and ready to look. There are 2 targets you want to find. The first is in front of you, in the front yard of the house. Look ahead from the gate entrance to the right of the table. You will notice a book on the ground. It contains an entry saying that the Duchess Faolain commissioned a suit of Green Armor that she had yet to pay for. Call Caithe over and she will recognize the Duchess who commissioned the armor. She tells the hero that the Nightmare Court stole the armor rather than pay for it.
After that head into the Smith's house. Just inside to the left you will notice some mushrooms. Look on top of those to find some blueprints. They detail a magical suit of armor. It is noted to be a completely unique suit of armor. Once again, call Caithe over. She just reiterates that Bercilak is the only one who has the suit of armor. Turn to the right and go to the Southern Wall. You will see a Journal to the right of a smithing hammer. Investigate the journal to learn the Achilles heel of the armor: the whole suit must be worn.
With that finished it is time to talk with Caithe. She will note that Faolain means that Brecilak is Nightmare Court beyond a doubt. She will hear some soft footsteps coming from outside the house. A nightmare Courtier and Courtier Elisaid will have come to the Smith's house to get his tools so he will work. Wait for the talking to end. Just wait a little after that and then it is time for some fighting. There are 3 Nightmare Courtiers out there including Elisaid. She will come at the hero with 2-handed sword and can do some nasty damage to lighter armored classes.
Once the fight is over, Caithe and Elisaid say a few words. Faolain is still determined to bring Caithe over to the Nightmare Court. Still, it is with Caithe that the next part of the mission shapes up. You must choose to either recruit Gairwen's aid or go to that of the Smith's.
Occam is known for living a solitary life and prefers it that way. Caithe suspects he could resist for a while. With Gairwen, there is the question of Bercilak. With that, you will gain all the information you can from Caithe on these matters. It is time to decide: rescue Occam and strike at the Nightmare Court head-on or Talk with Gairwen and devise a trap for Bercilak.
