Guild Wars 2 – Help Harvester Mavad manage the Kelp Harvest

“Help gather lavender, search sand piles, build Scarecrows, feed tamed siamoths, and protect harvesters from nearby threats.”

head to the Southern end of Sandycove Beach. There you will find Harvester Mavad. Talking with him you will learn what has been happening in the surrounding area.

Harvester Mavad: “it wasn't long ago we first came here to harvest supplies from the beach and the bay. The area was peaceful then. There were no undead, and the drakes and skale ignored us.”
Hero: A) “How can I help you and the other harvesters?”, B) “What changed?”, C) “What are you harvesting?”
Mavad A) I hate to admit, but the aggressive hostility of the drakes and skale gives us no choice but to cull them to manageable levels. Also, any more Caledon Lavender you could would be much appreciated.”
Hero A1) “Tell me about the Siamoths.”
Mavad A1) “We use them to help with the harvest. Their tusk easily break up the mud and dirt. We could use help feeding them. They also run off from time to time, but if you scare them, they'll hurry back.”
Mavad B) “Recently, undead have beguin washing up onto the beach. They attack the drakes and skale,  which makes them more aggressive in turn. The once passive drakes and skale now often attack us on sight.”
Mavad C) “Mostly kelp from the beach for food, but from time to time we also hunt crabs. And we collect Caledon Lavender whenever we can. It can be a useful medicine.”

The hunting of drakes and skale is the easiest overall. They are rampant the more Northeast you go from Mavad. If you participate in the nearby events it is very easy to get a lot of kills doing that. While exploring you can find Sand Piles. If you happen to have a shovel (they are scattered around the harvest grounds) you can dig these to get a little progress. Be warned as there is a chance that a Risen grub willk surface when you interact with it.

Caledon Lavender can be tricky to find but it is very possible. Look around in the patches of green grass. Most seems to be around the rock structure to the Northeast from Mavad. Circle around the outside and be sure to investigate the inside of the rocks as well to find even more now and again.

With the Siamoths you can find some knocked out around the area. It does count as progress to awaken them from K.O. After that you can also approach them and give the escape Siamoth's a scare to get another bit of progress. You can scare the same Siamoth multiple times and it will still count as progress. If you head to the pond nearby Mavad and look around the edges you will find a bag of grass. With this in hand it will be an option to feed the Siamoths.
