Guild Wars 2 – Assist Arias in Maintaining His Garden

“Speak to Arias to become a keeper of nature. Clear Stranglethorn, heal the wilting garden, clear grubs, and bring new life to the region.”

Head into the southern reaches of the Ogham Wilds, heading thorugh the Village of Astorea and turn to the South after finding the Falls. Once inside, just go a little to the East of the entrance to Ogham Wilds. You will find Arias just up the hill.

Arias: “Welcome to my garden. Would you care to help me in my many tasks?”
Hero: “Of course! What do I need to do?”
Arias: “I need you to heal the ailing plants. Unfortunately, our innate magic isn't strong enough. It must be filtered and magnified by elements of nature. Are you willign to let me transform you?”
Hero: A) “Always looking for a change. Let's do this.” (be transformed into a Mossheart) B) “Tell me more about this transformation.”
Arias: B) “I will magically convert your body into a mossheart. Detailed to the last splinter. You will assume the abilities of a great treant, and your magic will flow more freely into the garden.”
Hero: “Thanks for the explanation. I'm willing to help.”

Mossheart Abilities:
Punch: “Punch at nearby foes.”
Damage: 61, Range: 250
Thump: Thump the ground dealing massive damage to nearby foes.”
Cooldown: 8s, Damage: 102, Range: 300
Vine Pull: “Launch a vine at your target to pull them to your location.”
Cooldown: 15s, Damage 51, Vulnerability (5s): 1% incoming damage, Combo finisher: Physical Projectile, Range: 600
Spread Pollen: “Spread pollen to heal nearby plants. Also removes poison and heals for 200 health.”
Cooldown: 15s
Return: “Force yourself out of treant form.”

Knowing what you can do, it is time to start wandering the garden. If you approach any patches of dried out ground with stalks or plants coming out of them, this is a place to interact. Once the treant you has thumped the ground them a grub will appear for you to kill There are a number of grubs just lying around the area making it simple to find and kill them. If you use a combination of the Vine Pull, Thump and Punch then they will all go down quickly.

As you explore around the Garden you will find patches of Choking Vines. These are very difficult to hit in general but with some effort it can be done. This is especially true using Area of Effect (AoE) attacks to just hit a massive area at once. You will also find smaller clumps of Stranglevine. This is a lot easier to deal with. Simply approach it and interact with it to tear away the vines.

Another thing you will notice are Diseased Grub Burrows. Be careful with these as Diseased Grubs can appear out of them. While they do not do more standard damage they do inflict Poison or worse on your character.

At the end of the wandering around and killing the bugs you will receive the letter “Nature Rejoices” with 64 copper:
“The garden is flourishing! We're filled with joy to see all the plants doing well. You have been a boon to us. We appreciate you beyond measure. May your path always be rich in nature's delight. - Arias”.
