Darksiders 2 Walkthrough Part 53 – The Toll of Kings, Part 6

In the Arena just head to the North and place the final Animus Stone in the Demonhead Summoning Font. This will rock the Arena and call out Gnashor, the champion of the Lord of Bones.

Gnashor
The battle starts with Gnashor charging around in the ground at Death's feet. Evade the fiend while it is in motion. Be sure that you have Deathgrip active as it is important to this part of the fight. Whenever Gnashor shows above ground, grab it with Deathgrip to stun it. Now charging it and slam it good with a number of attacks. After the first time you stun and hurt it Gnashor will add in a new attack. It will launch itself from the ground and tuck into a ball. It will now charge around the area for a while. Now, whenever you see Gnashor pause in its attacks is when you want to Deathgrab it. Once it has lost most of its health it will summon up its true form from around the Arena. The real fight begins now.

Gnashor has a body now so no more charging around the Arena under the ground. Instead it is more interested in turning Death into a pile of broken bones with its slam attacks. It will grab its own head and spine and swing them as a mace. After 2 swings the head and spine will retreat into the ground then remerge with the rest of the body. When Gnashor pauses between attacks have Death move in and attack. Keep up this hit and run method, bringing your best single attacks into it. If you can get behind it during any of these it will make it a lot easier to tear into it fiercely and stun it more often.

When Gnashor is staggered from all the attacks it is time to launch the Deathgrip at him. This will stun Gnashor and give Death a great opportunity to just tear into the fiend. This is a great time to bring in Wrath Attacks and anything else. These can be used to easily get it down to half health.

At that point Gnashor will break from its body and dive back into the ground. Just run around the arena for now and do not stop. Gnashor will emerge at intervals, simply launching itself upwards to do damage to Death. Dodge the moment you notice the dust that is the prelude to this attack. After a while it will return and reform its body. While it does this, have Death close in and attack. Any pauses in its attacks are a great time to attack fiercely. When it gets down to a quarter health is likely the first chance you will have to execute it. Take it immediately to end the battle.

Move around the remains collect all the drops. After that, loot the chest that appeared in the center of the arena. Finally it will be time to move to see the Lord of Bones. Head up to the first balcony level and exit through the South. It is also very simple just to Fast Travel there and be done with it. Ostegoth, if needed, can be found by the stairs leading to the Throne Room. Go up the stairs and talk with the Chancellor to be granted an audience with the Lord of Bones. Talk with him and the Lord will task Death will give Death the Interdiction.

Once everything is set, head behind the Throne of the Dead King. There you will find a Relic of Etu-Goth. Collect it and head back out onto the Eternal Throne. It is time to find and bend the 3 Dead Lords to the Will of the Dead King.
