Darksiders 2 Walkthrough Part 38 – Sidequests, Part 6

Find and Kill Gorewood
Suggested Level: 10 – 15

On the other side of the door head over to the East. Things are not about to get any easier here. In fact a Stalker will appear in this full room and come at Death. Just use the usual evasive tactics to avoid the worst of the damage. Just tear through the Stalker. After that turn to the South and East to collect the chests there. Now turn to the Northwest and head on down the passage there.

Once you have dropped down, it is time to do some extra leg work to collect a page from the Book of the Dead. Wall Run along the Northern Wall then jump across to the opposite wall and finish the Wall Run on the hand hold. Head to the end of it then it is time for a Wall Run sequence. Just jump back and forth until you make it to the end of the hall and reach the page.

Drop down into the water below and dive to the very bottom of the pool. Turn to the West after that then North. It will lead you on to the exit point for the pool. Move forward into the next chamber. It is now time to take on Gorewood.

Gorewood
Gorewood only has a few attacks and nothing too bad in terms of difficulty. That does not mean he is a push over though. His swipes might be slow but they still do plenty of damage and you want to avoid any slam attacks. This can be very tricky as Gorewood loves to send a traveling bundle of roots that home in on Death. If you get caught they will do damage over time and you need to break free. If Gorewood responds quickly enough it can be extremely painful. More than anything for this fight be grateful that Gorewood is on the slow end in terms of speed.

Once you have seen Gorewood's attacks it becomes a lot easier to avoid them and understand the nature of the homing roots. Closing in on Gorewood and dodging around them there makes this for a much easier fight. Just move around and it will not be long under your assault that Gorewood will fall. Victory will give you the Gorewood Maul.

After the fight, claim the chest that sits in the Southeastern corner. Along the Eastern wall you will also find a Stonebite that can be claimed as well, A Stone of Power. It is hard to see but it is over by the Waterfall. It is easy to spot it when closer to the Waterfall and looking to the East. After that just Fast Travel out and return to Tri-Stone to complete the quest proper by talking with Thane.
