This part of the walkthrough covers Victory Road to Indigo Plateau

58 – Victory Road to Indigo Plateau

To complete this area, you will need Pokemon with Strength and Rock Smash. This area is also the last and best place to level up before facing the Elite Four. Once you have successfully navigated it, consider returning here until your party is, at least, in their mid fourties.

F1
Walk up to the first boulder you can push around, approaching it from below. Use Strength and push it upwards. Head to the left from here, going down the stairs then loop up to the right to reach the next set of stairs and an item ball with a Potion inside it. Head on up the stairs, looping to the left across the bridge and down the next set of stairs. This puts in nearby another item ball with a Full Heal inside it. Head to the left and up. Before you go up the next staircase, take a moment to head to the right and navigate the boulder maze to reach the Item Ball on the far side with a Max Revive inside it. To get there, push the boulder on the right one space right. From there, pass by that boulder then head to the right, looping upwards when you can, then to the left to get the Item Ball. From there, just retrace your steps to make it back to the stairs. Head on up those and climb up the ladder.

F2 & F3
From where you arrive at the top of the ladder, head down and to the right, going up the stairs and to the right. Keep going to the right, taking the ladder you will see upwards onto the next floor. From there, head a little to the right and fall down the nearby hole. Now, head upwards and to the left, you will find a boulder to push along to the left so you can progress.  Push it just once to the left so you
can access the staircases immediately underneath it, taking down to the left and up to reach the item ball with a Full Restore inside it. Now, return to the boulder and push it to the right once and head on up the narrow staircase that you had previously blocked. Go up both sets of stairs and climb up the ladder you find above them. Now, head downwards, avoiding the next hole and go to the left, up the stairs after it. Head a little up and you will find an item ball with an Ultra Ball inside it nearby some breakable rocks. After that, make your way to the left, down and left, hopping down the hole to your left (down works too, but then you miss the item ball). Grab the item ball with an HP Up inside it. Hop down the ledge and take the ladder up to return to the floor above. Head to the left and up from the top of the ladder. To keep collecting all the items around here, you need to slip between the next hole and the wall right next to it. Thread your way past the hole and weave through the stone pillars. The item ball is tucked behind the two top pillars in this area. It has a Rare Candy inside. Now, take a moment and drop down that hole you just went past and make your way to the left. You will see some stairs heading down, quickly head down those, grabbing the item ball with TM 26, Earthquake, at the bottom of them. Return to the top of the stairs and go up the ladder that is to the left of them. Make your way to the right and you will see the exit. Still, take a moment and smash your way through the rocks just below the exit so you can get the item ball with TM 79, Dark Pulse. Save your game before you turn the corner headed toward the exit.

After all that, you will find your Rival waiting for you near the exit. One more time you find yourself fighting him. He will be sure to think, a little, about the typing of your Pokemon in selecting his attacks, so be careful if you are using something that is weak against that Pokemon's type.
