Comic Con 2012 – July 15th, Sunday

This is the day the Convention wraps up. It is usually calmer than any other day of the convention by Comic Con standards. The panels wind down and there are rarely big items on the schedule for the day.  This is also the day of the Doctor Who panel, the finale of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: “Once More With Feeling.” It is very important to go and enjoy things when the opportunity is presented on this scale.

One of the unique events of the day is a Film Festival. Numerous fan made films are shown. The Festival lasts all day. It is hard to make the number of films and the sheer variety. There was a lot of live action, animation and computer generated cartoons. It was a treat to catch a few. It was a shame there was not more time to find. It is something to be taking that many movies in one day.

On the Dealer's Floor today you would find deals. It is important for them to start clearing out items. This means sales. Many will offer a sizable discounts to help clear out inventory and cut down what they need to take home. This is good for getting a lot of things for a good price. The problem there is the amount of stock that they have is greatly reduced. It is best to get something early but if it is something not to commonly sought it is good to wait. This can sometimes just save a few dollars but there are times when this can get you 50% to 75% off on anything.

When it comes to Buffy, it was something else. Comic Con pulled off a first in Buffy history having  people from the Movie, TV show and comic book all gathered in one place. It had Nicholas Bendon, Clare Kramer (who moderated) from the TV show. Writer Jane Espenson who worked on both the TV show and the comic along with Scott Allie. Finally there was Randall Batinkoff from the movie. “Once More With Feeling” is the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was something to see the whole audience burst into song. There were a few call-backs though.

This brought to a conclusion a long convention. This is when everyone goes about those last things to seek out. The rest of the convention is behind you. The next one looms in the future and it will be enjoyable.
