Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes Walkthrough Part 27 – Research and Development, Part 1
Mr. Luthor is Expecting you
As Superman start flying to the Southwest, toward the darkened city on the horizon. After a short while of flying you will make it there, triggering a cutscene. Batman and Superman head into Lex Luthor's headquarters and encounter an Evil Receptionist.
Evil Receptionist
Take to the skies as Superman. You will notice the Receptionist is sitting on a Lex Corp logo. Use your heat vision on it to destroy it and inflict the first bit of damage. These pieces will fall to the ground, revealing some assembly pieces. Have Superman put them together to create a Suit Changer for Batman. This one gives him the Power Suit. Likely you have noticed that the Receptionist is a Shiny Silver Machine. Time to start shooting at her some with it. She will jump around the reception area a good bit firing off a barrage of laser shots. After each of these, she will be dazed for a moment. Use that time to plant a bomb on her and have it go off to inflict some damage. After each bit of damage she will hop onto the next level and unleash a large number of Lexbots on you. She will repeat this pattern each time you inflict damage on her. The third time will be the last.
Once the Receptionist is down you can take some time now, with the Power Suit, to wreck some destruction around the office. In the bottom left and right corners you will find a statue. Use Superman to destroy the outer casing by melting the pair of gold bars on each. After that, use either to pull on the gold bars. From there, you can destroy the structure getting a lot of chips. Use some of this time to plant bombs on the shiny silver parts of the statue to get more chips. There is also a collectible to the left of the left-hand staircase you need to break into.
With all that extra blasting done it is time to work on the X-Ray puzzle in front of you. Look around the top right to find the first piece. Align it with the port to the right and the port below. Look a little over to the left and down to the find the second. Above it you will find the third and the final piece is to the far left. Get all the pipes to line with with their respective ports. When this is done then the stairs will revert to being just that: stairs.
Head to the upper level of the reception area and go to the center of it, above the X-Ray wall. Now use Batman's Power Suit to blast all the silver pieces in front of the elevator. It will give you a lot of chips as well as some important assembly pieces. Put the pieces together and head over to the left. Pull the lever that has appeared to open the door to the elevator itself. Head into the elevator here. Nothing else can be done in this room unless you are in free-play.
