Strength increases damage inflicted on your enemies, the power of your critical hits and physical resistance (you suffer less damage from attacks that hit you).

Strength works as base for your Damage Per Second so be wary about pulling away from it too much. If you do, consider some agility as it causes a much stronger rise in your attack speed.

Luck does not affect many stats. This makes it more expendable than most.  Regardless, think carefully as it does impact your chance for a critical hit and increases your chance to dodge and negate damage.
