Pokemon Platinum Walkthrough Part 32: Mt. Coronet to Hearthome City via Route 208

When you make for the entrance of Mt. Coronet, Prof. Rowan's assistant, Dawn/Lucas will appear. They have something for you. They will ask you to choose a hand. It does not matter which one you choose, as they will give you the same items regardless. This is the Vs. Seeker and the Drowsing App for your Poketch. The Vs. Seeker lets you fight trainers you have fought before. The Drowsing App lets you search the surrounding area for hidden items, like Rare Candies laying on the ground you cannot see. If you try the Drowsing App from where you get it, toy will see a blip just a bit to the left, about 3 steps, and some up or down, depending on where you are. Move up (or down) until you are JUST in front of the blip. Hit “A” and you will receive a Great Ball.

Once inside Mt. Coronet, head up a little and search the first rock on the left. It has an Energy Powder hidden in it. After that, head downwards. If you search just above the middle of the two spread rocks along the bottom of the area, you will find a hidden Revive. Head to the right, then you will once again meet Cyrus. He explains that Mt. Corornet was the origin of the whole Sinnoh region. He then drifts off talking about a new world, a place where only time flowed and space expanded and how such a world should be free of strife. He blames the human spirit for being weak and complete, etc. He then moves you aside and walks away. To get through to Hearthome, you can either smash the rocks to your right or head up the stairs Cyrus came down, then head right and to the exit below.

The rest of this area is closed off to you as you need Surf in addition to Rock Smash to reach more. Next trip promises to be more fruitful. Head on out to reach Route 208.

You will find yourself before a bridge, head on to your right. On the first landing you will find Hiker Jonathan. He opens with an Onix, lvl. 22. It is very easy to take down, it is much the same as those encountered earlier with Screech, Rock Throw and Rock Tomb. After that, you can head upwards to explore or head right to progress.

Going up leads to another trainer battle, this one against Black Belt Kyle and his Machop, lvl. 23. It has Foresight, Seismic Toss, Karate Chop for you to worry about. Just keep your Pokemon healthy in case of a series of Seismic Tosses. After you defeat Kyle, head down the stairs near him to find an item ball holding a Great Ball. There is more here, but you need Rock Climb to explore it, so it must wait a bit longer. Head back to the first landing and go to the right. On the far side of the bridges, you will find Hiker Robert. He will send out a Nosepass, lvl. 22. It has Block, so be careful what Pokemon is in battle as it may get stuck against this Nosepass. After it potentially uses Block, it will attack with Tackle, Rock Throw or boost its defense with Harden. After that, you are done with Robert, so head along the path to see some breakable boulders blocking an item ball. Smash them to get to the ball, which contains an Ether. Head to the right, then down the stairs. The first trainer you see near the grass at the bottom of the stairs is Arorma Lady Hanna. She opens with a Roselia, lvl. 18. It has Stun Spore, which it may open with, so keep on guard against a paralyzed Pokemon. If it does paralyze your Pokemon it will then attack with Poison Sting or Mega Drain. After the Roselia, she sends in Combee, lvl. 22. It will attack with Bug Bite or Gust. After you beat Hannah, there is another trainer to the right of her who may challenge you, this is Artist William. He opens with a Mime Jr., lvl. 20. It has Encore, an attack that will have your present Pokemon repeat its last used move over the course of the next few turns. This can be good or bad, all depending on the move. After the Mime Jr. he will send out Bonsly, lvl. 20. It will likely attack with Rock Throw, Quick Attack or Low Kick. After you, potentially, beat this trainer head downwards, through the grass, past the Honey Tree to talk to the person below the Honey Tree to the right. Who, telling you not to ask about it, gives you the Odd Keystone. This strange and mysterious item is key to getting the Pokemon Spiritomb. If you search the clear space in the grass field to the left of the Honey Tree you will find a hidden Tiny Mushroom. Head up and to the right to explore the remaining parts of this area.

The berry plants to the right are Nanab, Razz, Bluk, and Pinap. Collect these and visit the house nearby. This is the Berry Master's House. He will give you a free berry everyday, so stop by often. Talk to the little girl inside to get the Berry Searcher App. This Poketch App will display all Ripe berry batches you have encountered or can get to at present. The woman inside sells mulch which helps one with the process of growing Berries.

Head to down and to the right to reach Hearthome.
