Leaving Eterna City and  Traveling The Cycling Road

Having rescued the owner of the Bike Shop, head there to collect your free bike. This item is very helpful for exploring and just getting around. It is not a bad item to key to “Y” if you do not have anything attached to it already. Head down from there, toward the Cycling Road, which you can access from the southern part of town. As always, if needed, stop by the Pokemon Center to heal up your team. If you have not gotten your Explorer's Kit, take a moment to do so, as you will not be able to leave via the Cycling Road until you do.

Once you have done all you want to in-town, as detailed in Part 28, head for the Cycling Road, which is accessible by going south from the Pokemon Center, past the Gym and out of town. As you leave town, Cynthia will approach you and offer to give you a Pokemon Egg. This is a Togepi! Head to the Pokemon Center and clear a spot for it. It will take some time to hatch, but it is the first egg you will have. Either keep it in your party to hatch it or just store it in the PC until you feel like hatching it.

When you arrive at the entrance to the Cycling Path, you will notice a Scientist just inside the doorway. This is one of Professor Rowan's assisstants.. As long as you have seen 35 or more Pokemon he will give you the Exp. Share. This is a handy hold item, allowing Pokemon that are in your party, but do not participate in battle, to gain experience as though they had.. You will have to get on your bike, but it is a smooth ride forward with only Trainer battles to contend with for the duration.

The trainers are listed below going from the Top down:
Cyclist Alex:
Pikachu lvl. 21
The Pikachu will likely open with Double Team, trying to avoid all your attacks. It will then start coming at you with Quick Attack. Keep on guard for Pikachu's ability, Static, which can paralyze Pokemon attacking it with physical attacks.

The next person is on the left side of the road, making them easy to just ride by.
Cyclist Megan:
Staravia Lvl. 21
Again, the Pokemon will use Double Team. It could then use Endeavor, which brings your Pokemon's HP to the user's HP. Then likely it will come at you with Wing Attack or Quick Attack.

The next one is just off center on the right side.
Cyclist James
Ponyta lvl. 21
The Ponyta will mostly attack with Stomp, which can cause your Pokemon to flinch, Ember or Flame Wheel.

The next one is cycling left to right on the road.
Cyclist Nicole
Starly lvl. 17
it will play somewhat aggressive with Quick Attack or using Endeavor, but is fairly easy to take down
Starly lvl. 18
Much the same as the last one.
Starly lvl. 19
Rinse and repeat.

The next one is sitting between the two tunnels on the road.
Cyclist John
Starly lvl. 18
It will come at you Wing Attack, Quick Attack or Endeavor. Just hit it a few times and it should go down.
Staravia lvl. 20
It will use much the same strategy as the Starly. It is a bit tougher though.

The next one is found down the left tunnel.
Cyclist Ryan
Shinx lvl. 21
It has Spark at its disposal, which can paralyze your Pokemon, so be on guard. Aside from that, it has Charge, which will bolster its Sp. Defense and power up its next electrical attack.

The next one is on the far left side of the Cycling road.
Cyclist Rachel
Ponyta lvl. 20
Much like the other, it has Flame Wheel, Ember, Stomp, so keep on guard for those attacks.
Shinx lvl. 18
Much the same as earlier, watch out for Spark or a Charged Spark.

The next one, and last one, is on the far right side of the Cycling Road looking upwards.
Cyclist Kayla
Pikachu lvl. 21
It also has Double Team so expect it to use it at least once or twice. Then it will start attacking with with Quick Attack. Keep on guard for Pikachu's ability, Static, which can paralyze Pokemon attacking it with physical attacks.

Once you cross past the people behind the counters, you can talk with the girl on the right side of the room to get a Flag Pokemon accessory. She says that you can go south from here to Route 207, then cut through Mt. Coronet to reach Hearthome City, where they hold Pokemon Contest where you can dress up your Pokemon. This is not a bad idea, so out we go, off the Cycling Road and onto Route 206 and 207.
