Jubilife City to Ravaged Path

Head north onto Route 204 from Jubilife City. When you get to the entrance to the Route 204, you will see Team Galactic harrassing Professor Rowan. Team Galactic is trying to force the Professor to hand over all his recent finding, threatening his assistant. You intervene, which results in Rowan showing that he really does not take Team Galactic seriously and gives them a quick lesson in etiquette, insulting them just a little. Team Galactic rises to the provocation and Rowan encourages you and his assistant to take down the two grunts.

The battle starts and each of the Grunts have only one Pokemon, a Stunky lvl. 11 and Glameow lvl. 11. This is a relatively easy fight. The Stunky works as a support Pokemon, using Focus Energy at the start then using Screech to lower defenses while the Glameow will attack. Hammer on the Glameow then change over to the Stunky.

After the battle, Professor Rowan talks about how the evolution of Pokemon seems to release energy that Team Galactic is interested in the uses of this energy. They explain a bit more about things, then Prof. Rowan and his assistant depart, then a person from Jubilife TV approaches youi and gives you a Fashion Case. This signals the TV station opening up for you to take advantage of. Need be, stop by the Pokemon Center again, heal up your party and get ready to move forward.

Now, nothing is really keeping you in Jubilife City, so press North onto Route 204. If you break to the right just after going down the stairs toward ther route, walk through the grass, up then to the left above the little pond. Just above this little pond is an item ball with a Parlyz Heal in it.

Head back to the stairs and head Up from the stairs. There is a Trainer, Lass Sarah, at the first corner who has a Shinx, lvl. 7. It will lower your defenses with Leer than attack. It was a very easy fight. Just a little past Lass Sarah, to the left, there is another trainer, Youngster Tyler who has a lvl. 8 Magikarp. There is no easier fight than this. All the Magikarp can do is Splash, so have fun.

From Tyler, head Up to progress. At the far side of the grass field you find another trainer Lass Samantha, who a Budew, lvl 7, which will boost itself with Growth, use Water Sports to weaken Fire Type attacks, then attack using Absorb.

Just keeping walking straight on from Samantha and you will see a boy pacing in front of the entrance to the Ravaged Path. The boy hints that there are boulders that a Pokemon can smash using a Hidden Move. Make sure you have your Pokemon with Rock Smash and head in.

Post Script:
You can return here later, once you have surf, to claim a HP Up, that is located on the far right side of the second lake on the right.
