You’ll begin your time in A Dying World on the Beaten Path area. Head to the left to find Noel. This will play a cutscene. After the cutscene, speak to Noel again to trigger another cutscene. Now seek out Caius and try talking with him. Again, a short cutscene will play. After the cutscene, take some time to look around. You’ll see numerous phased-out NPCs wandering around, whom you may bring into the current time using Moogle Hunt. This really serves no purpose, however, so it’s a strange distraction at best. Chocolina can be found in the northeastern portion of the map, and she has some new goodies for you. Examine her new weapons stock and purchase some if you have the gil.

Head southwest from Chocolina to find a phased-out chest, which you can collect by using  Moogle Hunt. This will give you the map of A Dying World. Keeping up the theme, you’ll also have to use Moogle Hunt to find Noel where he hides in the lower southern end of the village. Attempt to speak to Yeul before following Noel to begin a cutscene. Following this cutscene, you’ll have to take Caius on as Noel. You won’t have any assistance here, but the battle is largely for effect and requires little in the way of strategy. Simply hammer on Auto-Battle and pop a few potions to emerge victorious.

Follow Noel again after defeating Caius to reach the Farseers’ Relic. Catching up to him will initiate a long cutscene. You can safely put the controller down for this one, as there are no quick time events or other tricks, just a lot of story development. When you finally pick the controller up again, approach Noel again. You’ll have to follow him around a bit. He is represented on your map by a green dot, so if you lose track of him don’t worry about it. Keep following him until you reach the Sandy Highlands area, then level up before proceeding into the center of the area to trigger a cutscene. You have finally found the real Noel, but the reunion is cut short by an old friend.

Boss Battle: Gogmagog

This battle is really quite easy, so it shouldn’t give you a lot of trouble. If it does, spend the section afterwards level grinding to get your party (especially Noel) back into shape.

Anyways, Gogmagog will use similar attacks as he did the second time you fought him, using Shell to protect himself and Swipe to hit both party members at the same time. Simply use the Slash and Burn Paradigm to drive his Chain Gauge up swiftly before staggering him and bringing him to a swift end.

You will receive a whopping 15,000 experience points and the Gogmagog Fragment Gamma for defeating him. Enter the Crystarium again and spend that experience.

You are now supposed to head back to the Farseers’ Relic area. Enemies are now activated in this area, and they are actually pretty powerful. Because of this, you may want to level grind some here. Battle the enemies until you can beat them relatively easily. Head back to the Farseers’ Relic area when you feel comfortable with your party’s strength. Don’t even bother exploring for treasures and the like, as your Moogle Throw ability is currently neutered and you won’t be able to enter all of the areas at this point. Simply interact with the waypoint and head into the Spacetime Distortion to go to the next area automatically.
