"After successfully completing the Jedi Trials on Tython, you have been sent by the Jedi Council to Coruscant to investigate a dark presence on the Republic capital world. There, you discovered that Doctor Tarnis was actually a SITH LORD posing as a Republic scientists to gain access to classified weapons projects. To capture the traitor, you and Kira must pursue Tarnis to an abandoned military vault in the heart of JUSTICAR territory..."

Tracking Down the Traitor
General Var Suthra is determined to find the traitor Doctor Tarnis before he escapes. Intelligence agents discovered Doctor Tarnis's last holocall came from within Justicar territory; he wants you to investigate. Take a speeder to Justicar territory and find the Justicar prison.

Your task is to locate Tarnis. Take taxi to the Justicar Territory. Open your map and locate the marker to the Justicar Detention Center to the southwest, and fight your way there. Enter the detention center and head towards the southeastern room. Enter the story area. You see many scientists dead on the floor.

Kira Carsen notes that she does not see a Planet Prison anywhere, which is not good news. Technician Jonkan is badly hurt, but still alive and speaks to you. Tarnis tricked them all. Said the Jedi were going to shut the project down. Tarnis had the scientists bring the Planet Prison here for safekeeping. But after they brought the prototype to Tarnis he turned on them and killed everyone.

Note that choosing the last option leads to a -1 affection loss with Kira Carsen who resents the harsh comment.

Technician Jonkan tells you that the Prototype creates a massive heat signature when activated, and suggests you run a thermal scan to help you find Tarnis. Planet Prison needs time to build up power. Enough time for you to destroy it and save Coruscant. Kira says she will run a thermal scan from one of the terminals.

Your mission log is now updated:
"While investigating Doctor Tarnis's last holocall, you cam across a dying technician named Jonkan. He revealed that Tarnis is a Sith, then told you the computer console's thermal trackers could locate Doctor Tarnis and the Planet Prison prototype. Use the computer console in the Justicar prison to track Doctor Tarnis."

Interact with the computer console. Kira initiates the Thermal Scan and begins tracking some thermal activity. She tracks down the thermal signature to Sector 167 coordinates 8863 which is the ruins of the Jedi Temple

The temple ruins are in a hazard zone called "the Works". People go in but don't come out. There's an old elevator down to the Works near here.

You will be given a choice of rewards: Coruscant Commendation, Kira's Light Focus, or T7's DY-35 Shield Generator. Think of who you would like to use more as your companion before choosing the appropriate reward.

This completes the mission "Tracking Down the Traitor" and starts the next Jedi Knight mission on Coruscant, "Race to the Ruins".
