Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Walkthrough Part 43 – The Final Battles

Everything around the Sealed Grounds has just changed thanks to you. You automatically enter into the Sealed Temple to be greeted by Groose and the Wise Woman. Link is treated to the awakening of Zelda as well. It all seems well but this is a Zelda game and they do not end this easily. Groose cries and gives Link a health shake and hugs the Wise Woman. Now is when Ghirahim makes his appearance and takes Zelda into the past where he can use her to restore Demise. You are given the chance to save, DO SO! Return to Skyloft after that scene to stock up on any essential items you have, this is the second to last chance to do so. Get a small stock of Fairies, tote all the bottles you can full of potions. If you feel you are ready, then head through the Gate of Time. Go into the past and out the front Doors. It is time to end the fight with Ghirahim.

Ghirahim, The Demon Lord
Phase 1
Ghirahim sends his hordes after you to start the battle off. While you can kill a great number of them easily you will find there are simply too many to slaughter them all. Just start dashing down all the while grabbing the Stamina Fruits. Grabbing them all will let you make it in a single dash. Unfortunately, Ghirahim will continue to interfere by establishing barriers. This will drop after a while but in the mean time you will need to kill all the Bokoblins around the first barrier.

After the first barrier, continue the dash. You will start to see a different minded Bokoblin, ones carrying bombs. This gives you all the more reason to run. Unfortunately Ghirahim will set a second barrier in your way and summon four Moblins. With some luck, there will be bombs thrown by the Bokoblins that will detonate and inflict massive casualities to the enemy ranks. Slaughter all the survivors.

After the second barrier, start dashing. You will now need to dodge arrows as well from Archers. When you reach the Third Barrier he will summon a Blue Bokoblin Leader for you to deal with in addition to the horde around you. The Blue Bokoblin will take quite a few strikes to kill and likes to charge you. Shield Bash this attack to stun him and create an opening for you to simply slice him to ribbons.

After the third barrier, continue your dash down. Nothing new is added in the waves that come at you. Just continue dashing to the fourth barrier. Here, Ghirahim will summon a pair of Stalfos to add his Bokoblins. Just kill them all. After this barrier falls, dash forward and to the center of the Sealed Grounds. Ghirahim will seal the passage behind you and summon a large number of Bokoblins you need to defeat hastily. Defeat them to lower the barrier protecting Ghirahim and Zelda.

Phase 2
Ghirahim for once will not be holding back for any part of this fight. This phase he will be very aggressive so do not give him the chance to hit you! Immediately start attacking him. When you see him rear back to attack, start shield bashing to stun him. Push him off the platform to the one below. Maintain your lock and dive down to deliver a Fatal Blow to him. On the second platform, watch his hands in case he electrically charges them. If he does, you must deliver the strike between them to get him to discharge it without hurting Link. It is not until the third fatal blow that the battle will change into its next phase

Phase 3
Ghirahim draws his scimitar at this point and comes at you. Focus on shield bashing his attacks then thrust the Master Sword at the weak point in his chest. No other attacks will hurt him right now. Be careful as he will attack a lot and this part is a more defensive portion.

Phase 4
The final phase of the battle. Ghirahim will summon a zwiehander, a thick two-handed blade. Keep on the defensive for the moment and focus on shield bashing one of his attacks. This will force Ghirahim on the defensive and give you a chance to slash at the summoned blade. Enough parallel cuts to the blade will shatter it, giving you an opening to attack Ghirahim's weak point.

He will fall after a number of blows. Unfortunately his sacrifice was enough to complete the spell. Demise is resurrected to his full power, who pulls the sword out of Ghirahim. It is time to prepare to face down Demise. Restock on any potions or Fairies (get the Hylian Shield if you are very concerned about durability) then head into the portal in the past at the bottom of the Sealed Grounds to face down Demise.

Demise
Phase 1
For this opening phase of the battle, let Demise come at you. Either Shield Bash his attack and retaliate with a quick single strike or dodge and strike. If you do not shield bash and just block, you will notice it does a good amount of damage to your shield. Just remember, if you want to dodge, backflip. This will put Link in the clear regardless of the attack Demise uses. After a number of strike Link will knock Demise over.

Phase 2
Demise will electrify his sword right at the start of this part of the battle. Shield Bashing and dodge remain important but they will no longer be the cornerstones of the battle. Be warned that him blocking your sword will now send a current into Link, inflicting damage. If you lose your shield, a very real possibility if you do not have the Hylian Shield, shift to dodging and striking but know it is a lot harder to complete the battle.

When Demise falls over, Link must quickly execute a Fatal Blow. This window only last a couple seconds so be ready for it. If Demise rises, Link must knock him down again to create another opening.

Now, enjoy the ending, for this Legend Of Zelda has come to an end.
