These Stones are some of the oldest elements in the game for evolution. Usually, with the exception of all the Eevee evolutions, a stone-based evolution won't learn any more new moves. However, it gives you access to new moves through the tutors found in Platinum/Diamond/Pearl. These evolutions are not to be trifled with in their respective tiers. While a limited number of some stones can be found, most will just take some time to get via the undergound and Pickup ability. The information about this is included as well.

Pick Up:
Each of the stones marked with the Pick-up ability has a scaling chance to be found after a successful battle.
Minimum Level Required:
Dusk Stone – 31-40
Shiny Stone – 41-50
Dawn Stone – 51-60

For each stone, entering into the next tier of levels increases the chance from the initial 4% to its maximum of 10%. While the chances remain low, this one of the few ways to acquire these stones after all the ones available by default have been used.

The Underground:
The few stones that you unearth in the underground, Water Stone, Leaf Stone, Fire Stone, Thunder Stone, Moon Stone, take time to find. Digging in the walls is always a game of chance and skill for the rewards. As you chip away at the wall, you’ll find what strategies work for you to yield the maximum results.
